Whey proteins provide many benefits as to provide energy, increase stamina, and many more. But if you consume it in large amounts it can give you the side-effects.

The protein releases anabolic hormones such as insulin which helps you to increase your muscle mass and strength.

One of the BCAAs i.e. Leucine stimulates muscle protein synthesis in your body. Unlike other proteins, whey protein works way much better and helps in muscle growth at a faster rate.

1) Digestion problem

Overconsumption of whey can cause several digestion problems like bloating, hyperactive bowel movements, and diarrhea.

2) Kidney problems

If you are previously suffering from kidney problems then consuming whey will be more dangerous. It can cause kidney stones too.

To neutralize this you can consume adequate dietary fiber and water as a part of your diet.

3) Unwanted fat gain:

Some proteins come with added sugar which will increase your carbs intake and you will start gaining fat.

And some whey also contains added fat which will increase your calorie intake to burn your calories because of this you will end up gaining weight.

4) Gout:

If you are already suffering from gout then intake of it may worsen your condition. But there isn’t any direct link between gout and whey protein.
